Fotios Tjoumakaris, MD

Dr. Tjoumakaris is board certified in orthopaedic surgery with a subspecialty certification in sports medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in premier orthopaedic journals and lectures regionally, nationally, and internationally on his orthopaedic research.  Dr. Tjoumakaris is the Associate Director of the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program as well as the Associate Director of Sports Medicine Research and serves as an instructor at numerous arthroscopy courses.  Dr. Tjoumakaris specializes in sports medicine and shoulder surgery with special expertise in shoulder, knee, and hip arthroscopy and reconstructive procedures. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and went on to complete his fellowship in both Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Pepe is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and is on staff at Virtua Voorhees and Atlanticare Regional Medical Center. David Pedowicz, MD

Dr. Pedowitz is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of conditions and disorders of the foot and ankle.  He serves as a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson Sidney Kimmel Medical College and is the chief of the division of Foot & Ankle Surgery here at Rothman Orthopaedics, which is one of the largest foot and ankle programs in the nation. He specializes in sports injuries, knee ligament (ACL & PCL) reconstructions, meniscus tears, shoulder instability, rotator cuff repairs, and hip arthroscopy. As Director of the Hip Arthroscopy program at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Salvo is one of the region’s leaders in hip arthroscopy & hip preservation, particularly in athletes. He is a team physician for the Philadelphia Eagles as well as the Philadelphia Flyers, and a consultant for the Philadelphia Phillies. Tom Hunkele, MPT, ATC, SCS, Philadelphia Eagles VP of Sports Medicine

Tom Hunkele, who enters his 22nd NFL season and eighth overall with the Philadelphia Eagles, was promoted to vice president of sports medicine/head athletic trainer during the 2021 offseason. He rejoined the team as director of sports medicine/head athletic trainer in 2020 after spending 14 seasons (2006-19) with the Minnesota Vikings as coordinator of rehabilitation/assistant athletic trainer. During his time with the Vikings, Hunkele was recognized as the 2019 Tim Davey Assistant Athletic Trainer of the Year for the NFC and was also a part of a Minnesota athletic training staff that was honored by its peers as the 2017 Athletic Training Staff of the Year.
