Lesson 1: Management of Hip Injuries in the NFL
Faculty Member: John Salvo, MD
Dr. Salvo is double board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He specializes in sports injuries, knee ligament (ACL & PCL) reconstructions, meniscus tears, shoulder instability, rotator cuff repairs, and hip arthroscopy. As Director of the Hip Arthroscopy program at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Salvo is one of the region’s leaders in hip arthroscopy & hip preservation, particularly in athletes. He is a team physician for the Philadelphia Eagles as well as the Philadelphia Flyers, and a consultant for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Lesson 2: Non-Traumatic Hip Pain in the Athlete
Faculty Member: Melody Hrubes, MD
Dr. Hrubes is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as Sports Medicine and is the Director of our Primary Care Sports Division for the New York region. She currently serves as the Medical Director for the Radio City Rockettes, as a team physician for the United States Soccer Federation and has previously worked with United States Gymnastics.

Lesson 3: Non-Surgical Hip Rehabilitation
Faculty Member: Monte Wong, DPT, ATC
Since 2013, Dr. Wong has served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist for the Philadelphia Eagles. He earned his Bachelor of Exercise Sport Science from the University of Manitoba. He then went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh.
